UL Bohemian RFC Weekend Up coming Fixtures

Following on from some excellent matches last weekend, we are back on the field this weekend. Friday evening sees our local AIL fixture against Old Crescent in Rosbrien at 7:30pm, with our Under 13s having a friendly also in Rosbrien at 7:30pm Saturday sees a busy day on all fronts, with the Women heading to Suttonians for the last WAIL fixture before Christmas in JJ McDowell Park at 5:00pm Our Munster Senior Clubs League at 2:30pm in Annacotty sees us face Old Crescent for the second time this weekend, while Gleeson League takes place in Fitzgerald Park against Thomond also…

UL Bohemian Men’s Senior Team take their first win the AIL last friday night under lights in UL

This was an old school Friday Night Lights AIL classic. There was the good, the bad, the ugly, and everything in between for both sides. Bohs came out on top with a final scoreline of 18-14, but this one was not for the feint hearted. Cashel opened the scoring with a penalty off the tee from Steve McMahon, before a great response from Bohs led to a strong maul being pulled down right at the try line, referee Glenn Sheridan had no choice but to award a penalty try. UL Bohemian Senior Men lost out to a well drilled Dolphin RFC side in opening game in the AIL.

UL Bohemian RFC where beaten by a well drilled Dolphin side who, on the whole, deserved their victory last Saturday in the opening game of the Men’s AIL. Dolphin started fast with a penalty from close range. A scrum penalty won by the starting front row of Pauric Nesbitt, Connor Botha & Phil Poillot gave Harry Byrne the opportunity to level the scores from the kicking tee just a few minutes later. UL Bohemian RFC U20s Kick off the Donal Walsh League with a win over Dolphin/Sundays Well on Saturday 20th October

Dolphin/ Sundays Well started the stronger scoring a converted try within the first 90 seconds of the game. Boh’s  battled hard and responded with a Dylan O Connor try soon followed by a 100m intercept run from Tadgh Walsh. Current Cup Champions Young Munster RFC hold off UL Bohemian RFC to secure their place in Semi Final of the Munster Senior Challenge Cup

This local derby did not fail to be entertaining for rugby fans. Friday night lights always has the potential for a great game and that it was, although our Robins were not the right side of the score line. Boh’s opened the scoring after an excellent individual break from well inside the their 22 from outhalf Oisin Fagan that was dotted down a few phases later by Brian Murphy, Fagan added the extras making it 7-0.
