The arrival with players chatting, getting used to the pitch, doing there own little bits n pieces, getting help from fellow players in the process and the warmup proper…..you could see that it all bode well. The match itself, WOW, for the neutral, (there weren’t many of those) it would be fair to say it was entertaining. For all those involved, Parents and Guardians, Grandparents, Uncles and Aunts, Sisters and Brothers, Club Officials…enthralling, exhausting, agonising, jubilant and rapturous. Garryowen had the honour and chose to kick short, Bohs started how they meant to continue, the forwards getting over the gain…

The match, like any semi final was a tight run affair with Bohs enjoying most of the territorial advantage. Bohs defence was strong, firing off the line to nullify the OC threat, particularly through their midfield. The game was low scoring, both teams fighting hard, however, the OC executed whenever they managed to get into the red zone, while the home team were just not behind the eight ball in attack on the day. Old Crescent took a two point advantage with two minutes remaining and managed to hold out for the win. Joy for the men in blue and…

While the weather was lamentable, the atmosphere in this away trip to play Bruff RFC in Kilballyowen Park was anything but. Perhaps it was the feel good factor of the result in the big smoke, multiple teams getting ready to do battle in the grounds or the great turnout from a set of highly enthusiastic supporters…whatever the external influences, the main drive comes from within, within the individual and within the team(s) and those supporters aforementioned bore witness to a fiercely contested fracas worthy of the also previously mentioned contest at (the other) H.Q. With the wind swirling and the…
This weekend’s fixtures kick off with our 18’s playing Mallow under lights on Friday at 8:15pm in UL, based on last weekend’s performance, should be an excellent game. The highlight of Saturday’s action see the women take on their nemesis Railway Union on the 4G at 2:00pm. This has all the makings of a thrilling match as we come to the latter part of the Top 4 section of the competition. A win will see us overtake them in the table, and then only 1 more match next weekend away to Belvedere, before the WAIL Finals weekend. Your support could…
