U15s get off to winning start in North Munster League

Match Report

Its the start of a new season and UL Bohemian U15s were at home to Nenagh Ormond this morning for their first league fixture of the 2022/23 season. The smell of hotdogs in the air no doubt putting the hunger on the fanbase. The players on the other hand were hungry for something quite different. The home team started well with good use of hands in attack and great commitment and determination in defence. Ryan Angely kicked off the scoring with a superb kick through and chase to score and convert his own try. Following good phase play, Cormac Devitt scored next for the Red Robins. Ryan Angley crossed the whitewash again and UL Bohs finished the first half leading 17-0.

The away team came into it more in the second half scoring two unconverted tries in total but it wasn’t enough for the North Tipp men.

Andrew Berkery scored the first second half try for the Red Robins going over after great work from the pack, with Angley converting. Kevin Griffin then spotted a gap in the Nenagh defence to score near the post with Cormac Devitt adding the extras.

The final UL Bohs try came following Cian Hannon’s great work getting in off the wing to set up fast ball through the hands to Cillian Lacey who showed great pace to score in the corner.

Final score: UL Bohemian RFC 36 Nenagh Ormond 10.

We understand that one of the Nenagh Ormond players was unfortunate in suffering a significant injury not so long ago and will be out for a year or more. We wish him a speedy recovery and Nenagh Ormond well for the rest of the season.
