UL Bohemian RFC Women`s Team got the EnIn brilliant conditions and following a long lay off due to Covid UL Bohs welcomed Cooke to Limerick to get the AIL off to a much needed start. Both teams were anxious to put in their best efforts and after 10 minutes following sustained pressure the visitors crossed the line to score a well taken try by Helen McGee. However, the Robins were quick to respond and 2 minutes later Stephanie Nunan get her first of a hattrick of tries and conversion was by Nicole Cronin.
With a lot of attack and defence by both sides on 18 minutes Nicole Cronin added another 5 points. Stephanie got in for her second try on 32 minutes. Keeping up the pressure and just before halftime Stephanie scored her third try and this was successfully again converted by Nicole. Looking good for the Robins with the bonus point secured. But Cooke came back quickly and Naomi McCord raced in to get their second try which was converted by Amanda Morton. UL Bohs leading by 24 points to 12 at the break.
Shortly after the restart Aoife Corey got another try for the home-side. Aoife put a further try on the board on the hour. Nicole added the 2 points. With less than 10 minutes to go Louise Costello continued with the try count. And finally to put the icing on the cake Shelley Ring went in the get the 8th try for the Robins.
Final Score: UL Bohs 46 – Cooke 12.
