Our Red Robins travelled West to play Galwegians in the second round of the Women’s AIL and secured a bonus point win with a final score of 43 points to 7. Both teams started well but after 4 minutes Eilis Cahill crossed for the opening try for the visitors. This was converted by Nicole Cronin. Galwegians rallied and 3 minutes later got into the Bohs half and Ursula Sammon raced in get a beautiful try which was converted by Darinn O’Halloran.
UL Bohemian RFC were successful in securing a lot of the play which resulted with a try by prop forward Fiona Reidy coming up to half time. More of the same followed and Alana McInerney collected a loose ball and made a superb solo run down the right wing and got in under the post for try number 3. Nicole was again got the extra 2 points. Just on halftime Chloe Pearse crashed over to get the bonus point try. Again, Nicole did the honours. HT score: UL Bohs 26 – Galwegians 7.
Three minutes after the restart Eva McCormack put try number 5 on the board with Nicole converting. Good attacking and defensive Rugby by both sides resulted in no scores for nearly twenty minutes. But Chloe Pearse came from the 22 and held off a number of defenders to get her second try. With not long left Aoife Corey finished the scoring with try number seven.
