Munster Rugby and the IRFU confirm that former UL Bohemian RFC Chair and Director of Rugby Ian Costello has been appointed to the role of Greencore Munster Rugby Academy Manager

Ian Costello returns to the province after working in England for the past five years. Since 2018 he has held the role of Defence Coach with Wasps Rugby and prior to joining the Premiership side he was the Head Coach of Championship club Nottingham Rugby. With a wealth of experience across numerous coaching roles, Ian initially worked with the province’s academy in 2006 when carrying out his role of IRFU Elite Player Development Officer for two years. UL Bohemian RFC wish Tommy O’Donnell the very best with his retirement from professional rugby at the end of the season.

Tommy started in Clanwilliam FC & then lined out for UL Bohemian RFC in the AIL before he made his Munster debut against Scarlets in 2007 as a 20-year-old Academy player & then went on to make 186 Munster appearances since his debut and earned 13 caps for Ireland. Tommy was named as Greencore Munster Rugby Academy Player of the Year in 2009 and Munster Rugby’s Player of the Year in 2013, he also featured in two 6 Nations-winning campaigns for Ireland.
